That the minutes of the Ashfield Seniors Action Committee Meeting held on 13/8/2013 be confirmed.
Ms Christina O’Hagan, Social Outcomes Project Officer advised the Committee that the following criteria will be recommended to Council for endorsement:
§ applications will now be limited to $2,000
§ applications for more than $2,000 will not be considered
§ community groups will be strongly encouraged to form partnerships and share resources
§ all applicants must have public liability insurance
§ the proposed project should not duplicate other existing adequate services in Ashfield
§ the project must directly benefit Ashfield residents
§ the selection panel will consist of the Social Outcomes Project Officer, a Sustainability and a Governance Officer and a community member.
There will be two grant information sessions held on Tuesday 12 November 2013.
All grant information will be advertised on the Council website, Inner West Courier and Ethnic newspapers.

Mayors Xmas Lunch for Seniors
ACTION: Invite Haberfield Community Choir to sing carols at the event and print words of the carols so that people can sing along.
Recycle Smart trial
The Committee is looking forward to the evaluation of this initiative.
Ms Nola Makowiak reported that there are loose tiles in Liverpool Road that are trip hazards. In future, matters like this can be reported directly to Customer Services.
Ageing and Disability Services Directory
A Community Services student from Ultimo TAFE who is doing a 140 hour placement with Community Programs, is currently updating the directory. Once this is completed, copies will be printed.
William Street development
Community members will have the opportunity to raise their concerns about this development when the matter comes to Council. Residents are concerned that green space will be lost.
ACTION: The Committee has asked for a demographic profile of the Ashfield community to be presented at the next meeting.
Leaders of local Chinese community groups to be invited to future meetings.
