That the minutes of the Pratten Park Advisory Committee held on 6 December 2012 be confirmed.

 

Business Arising from the Minutes:

 

Pratten Park Bowling Club – Irrigation.

 

Peter Cormican reported that a meeting was held on site on 6 December 20121 with the contractor proposed by the bowling club. Further advice was sought from the contractor on the design options to address the system operation and this has not been received.

 

Council officers will alternatively approach Ausflow for further design advice. (Ausflow being the designers of the oval and tennis club systems.

 

Security:

 

Contact was made with the Security Company and Council has requested weekly report of attendance (and gate locking times)

 

Practice wickets were as reported torn up when a car  drove over them. Council to investigate

 

REQUESTED ACTION: That vehicular access be restricted with the closure of the gates entering into the park.

 

Dumping rubbish

 

 Anne O’Connell advised that a  tool box and a television were dumped beside the Bowling Club recently. These have since been removed.

 

General Business:

 

Pratten Park Bowling Club.

 

Cricket balls have been damaging the roof of the Bowling Club causing water to enter into the clubhouse near the electrical wiring. The roof is in need of replacement.

 

Perimeter wall of the Pratten Park Bowling Club needs a report from a structural engineer due to the cracking and sinking of section of the wall. Council to arrange inspection.

 

Pratten Park Bowling Club is owned by the club, leased through Council. It is built on Crown Land and Council land.

 

ACTION: That a walk through of Pratten Park be held on Thursday 4 April 2013 at 5.30pm.

 

The Pratten Park Plan of Management which gives the guidelines for work to be prioritised, should be distributed to the members.

 


 

 

Canterbury District Soccer Football Assoc.

 

Winter Season  will start on 6 April. Same numbers of teams competing this year as last year.

Usage of the Park is not available at the moment.

 

Western Suburbs District Cricket.

 

Lights on practice wickets are progressing with acoustic testing to be undertaken and then a Development Application will be submitted.

 

Ashfield & District Historical Society.

 

Looking to provide internet access. A grant application has been submitted to Ashfield Council.

 

Office in need of painting repairs.

 

Light on the verandah needs to be inspected.

 

ACTION: That an inspection of Thirning Villa be made to note the necessary repairs.

Television reception may not be available in the residence. To be investigated by Council,

 

ACTION: Report back to the next meeting on this situation.

 

Western Suburbs Lawn Tennis Club.

 

Councillor Drury advised the meeting that he attended the opening of the Automatic Watering System installed from a grant from Community Building Partnership.

It was a very successful function with Councillors in attendance.
